Overage Charges
Learn what happens when you run out of AI credits and your options for getting more.
Firebuzz does not charge automatic overage fees when you exceed your plan limits. Instead, AI features become unavailable when credits are exhausted, and you have options to continue working without unexpected charges.
What Happens When Credits Run Out
When your AI credit balance reaches zero:
- AI features pause — You cannot generate new landing pages, edit content with AI, or create AI images
- Existing pages work — Your published landing pages continue serving visitors normally
- Analytics continue — Traffic tracking and form submissions are unaffected
- Manual editing works — You can still manually edit pages without AI assistance
Running out of credits does not affect your live landing pages or lead capture. Only new AI-powered operations are paused.
Your Options
When you've exhausted your credits, you have several paths forward:
Wait for Next Billing Cycle
Your credit allocation resets automatically at the start of your next billing period. If you can wait:
- Check your billing cycle dates in Settings > Subscription > Plan
- Plan non-AI work until credits refresh
- Credits reset to your full plan allocation at cycle start
Purchase a Credit Top-up
Buy additional credits immediately without changing your plan:
- Go to Settings
- Click Subscription
- Navigate to the Plan tab
- Find the Buy Credits add-on section
- Select a credit package
- Complete the purchase
Credit packages are available in various sizes, often with bonus credits included. See Purchasing Add-ons for details.
Top-up credits don't expire at the end of your billing cycle like subscription credits—unused top-up credits can carry over to the next period.
Upgrade Your Plan
If you consistently run out of credits, consider upgrading to a higher plan:

Traffic Overages
Unlike credits, exceeding your traffic limit does not disable any features:
- Your landing pages continue working normally
- All visitors are served without interruption
- Form submissions continue processing
- Analytics track all traffic
What happens instead:
- You receive notifications about exceeding your limit
- Consistent overage suggests you should upgrade
- No automatic charges are applied
While occasional traffic spikes are tolerated, consistent significant overages may require a plan upgrade to ensure fair resource allocation across all customers.

Preventing Credit Exhaustion
Monitor Usage Weekly
Check Settings > Subscription > Usage regularly to track your consumption trends.
Set Mental Thresholds
Plan to take action when you reach:
- 75% used — Consider if you need a top-up
- 90% used — Purchase a top-up if you have remaining work
Purchase Preemptively
If you know a busy period is coming (campaign launch, multiple client projects), purchase credit top-ups in advance.
Optimize Credit Usage
- Use AI for initial generation, then make minor edits manually
- Plan campaigns to batch AI work efficiently
- Review if any AI operations could be simplified
