Upgrading Your Plan
Upgrade to a higher Firebuzz plan for more credits, seats, and projects with immediate access.
Upgrading your Firebuzz subscription gives you immediate access to more AI credits, team seats, and projects. This guide explains the upgrade process and how billing works.
How Upgrades Work
When you upgrade your plan:
- Immediate access — New features and limits are available instantly
- Prorated billing — You only pay the difference for the remaining billing period
- No disruption — Your existing work and settings remain unchanged
Upgrading Your Plan
To upgrade to a higher tier:
- Go to Settings
- Click Subscription
- Select the Plan tab
- Click Change Plan
- Select your new plan (Scale or Agency)
- Review the prorated charge
- Click Confirm Upgrade
The Change Plan button is disabled if you're on a trial or if your subscription is set to cancel.
Understanding Proration
Proration ensures you only pay for what you use:
Example: Pro to Scale Mid-Month
If you upgrade from Pro ($99/mo) to Scale ($199/mo) halfway through your billing cycle:
- Days remaining: 15 days
- Pro credit: ~$49 (unused portion)
- Scale charge: ~$99 (15 days of Scale)
- Net charge today: ~$50
Your next full billing cycle charges the regular Scale price ($199).
What Changes After Upgrade
Immediate Changes
- AI Credits — Balance increases to new plan allocation
- Team Seats — Can immediately invite more members
- Projects — Can create additional projects
- Traffic Limit — Increased visitor allowance
Billing Changes
- Next invoice reflects new plan pricing
- Billing date remains the same
- Any active discounts may or may not apply to new plan

During a Trial
If you're on a free trial:
- Go to Settings > Subscription > Plan
- Click Upgrade Now
- Add your payment method
- Select your plan
- Your paid subscription begins immediately
Finishing your trial early starts paid billing immediately. Any remaining trial days are forfeited.
Upgrading Billing Frequency
To switch from monthly to yearly billing:
- Go to Settings > Subscription > Plan
- Click Change Plan
- Toggle to Yearly billing
- Select your plan
- Confirm the change
Yearly billing benefits:
- Save one month's cost (pay for 11, get 12)
- Fewer billing transactions
- Credits still allocated monthly
After Upgrading
Verify your upgrade was successful:
- Check Settings > Subscription > Plan for the new plan name
- View Settings > Subscription > Usage for updated credit balance
- Try inviting a team member to confirm new seat limit
- Create a project to confirm new project limit
