Downgrading Your Plan
Switch to a lower Firebuzz plan with reduced costs at the end of your billing cycle.
Downgrading your subscription reduces your monthly costs while retaining essential Firebuzz features. This guide explains the downgrade process and what to expect.
How Downgrades Work
When you downgrade your plan:
- Scheduled for end of period — Changes take effect at your next billing date
- Full access until then — Keep current plan features until the switch
- Validation required — Must fit within new plan's limits before downgrading
Downgrading Your Plan
To downgrade to a lower tier:
- Go to Settings
- Click Subscription
- Select the Plan tab
- Click Change Plan
- Select your new plan (Scale or Pro)
- Review any validation warnings
- Click Confirm Downgrade
Unlike upgrades, downgrades are scheduled—not immediate. You keep your current plan until your billing period ends.
Validation Requirements
Before you can downgrade, your current usage must fit within the new plan's limits:
Seat Validation
If you have more team members than the new plan allows:
- Remove team members from Settings > Team
- Reduce to at or below the new seat limit
- Return to complete the downgrade
Project Validation
If you have more projects than the new plan allows:
- Archive or delete projects
- Reduce to at or below the new project limit
- Return to complete the downgrade
You cannot downgrade if your current usage exceeds the new plan's limits. Reduce usage first.
What Changes After Downgrade
When your downgrade takes effect at the next billing date:
Immediate Changes
- AI Credits — Reset to new plan's allocation
- Team Seats — Limited to new plan's count
- Projects — Limited to new plan's count
- Traffic Limit — Reduced to new plan's allowance
Billing Changes
- Next invoice reflects new plan pricing
- Any existing discounts may be affected
- Add-ons remain separate and unchanged
Downgrade Path
| Current Plan | Can Downgrade To |
|---|---|
| Enterprise | Agency, Scale, Pro |
| Agency | Scale, Pro |
| Scale | Pro |
What Happens to Extra Resources
Extra Seats
If you have seat add-ons, they remain active after downgrade. Your total seats = new plan base + add-ons.
Extra Projects
If you have project add-ons, they remain active. Your total projects = new plan base + add-ons.
Unused Credits
Credits don't carry over between billing cycles. When your downgrade takes effect, you receive the new plan's fresh allocation.
Example: Agency to Pro
Downgrading from Agency ($399/mo) to Pro ($99/mo):
Current (Agency):
- 7 seats, 7 projects, 3,000 credits
After downgrade (Pro):
- 1 seat, 1 project, 500 credits
Before downgrading:
- Remove 6 team members
- Archive or delete 6 projects
Canceling a Scheduled Downgrade
If you change your mind before the downgrade takes effect:
- Go to Settings > Subscription > Plan
- Look for "Scheduled downgrade" notice
- Click Cancel Downgrade
- Your current plan continues unchanged
No Refunds for Downgrades
Downgrades do not result in refunds. You pay for your current plan through the end of the billing period, then the new plan pricing begins.
