Adding a Payment Method

Step-by-step guide to securely add a new credit or debit card to your Firebuzz account.

Add a new payment method to your Firebuzz account to start or maintain your subscription. All payment methods are securely managed through Stripe's Customer Portal, ensuring your card information is protected with industry-leading security.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • A valid credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover)
  • Card expiration date and CVV/security code
  • Billing address associated with the card

Your payment information is processed directly by Stripe. Firebuzz never sees or stores your complete card details.

Adding Your First Payment Method

If you haven't added a payment method yet, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings in your workspace
  2. Click Subscription in the navigation
  3. Select the Billing tab
  4. Click Manage Billing Information

This opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab where you can securely add your payment method.

In the Stripe Customer Portal

  1. Click Add payment method
  2. Enter your card number, expiration date, and CVV
  3. Provide your billing address:
    • Full name
    • Street address
    • City, state/province, and ZIP/postal code
    • Country
  4. Click Add payment method to save

Your billing address must match the address on file with your card issuer to prevent payment failures.

Adding Additional Payment Methods

You can store multiple payment methods and switch between them:

  1. Navigate to Settings then Subscription
  2. Open the Billing tab
  3. Click Manage Billing Information
  4. In the Stripe Customer Portal, click Add payment method
  5. Enter the new card details and billing address
  6. Optionally, set the new card as your default payment method

Your new payment method will be available immediately for use.

Setting a Default Payment Method

When you have multiple payment methods saved:

  1. Open the Stripe Customer Portal (via the Billing tab)
  2. Find the card you want to set as default
  3. Click the menu next to the card
  4. Select Set as default

Your default payment method will be used for all future subscription charges and renewals.

Security and Privacy

When adding a payment method:

  • All card data is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols
  • Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant
  • Only the last 4 digits of your card are visible in Firebuzz
  • Your complete card number is never stored by Firebuzz

The Stripe Customer Portal is hosted directly by Stripe, adding an extra layer of security by keeping your payment data separate from Firebuzz's systems.
