Managing Submissions

Learn how to delete individual form submissions and manage your lead data.

While form submissions are primarily for viewing and analysis, Firebuzz provides essential management capabilities to help you maintain clean, accurate lead data.

Deleting Submissions

You can delete individual submissions directly from the Data tab:

How to Delete a Submission

  1. Navigate to your campaign's Data tab
  2. Find the submission you want to remove in the table
  3. In the Actions column, click the Delete button
  4. The submission is immediately removed

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. The submission data is completely removed from the system.

When to Delete Submissions

Common reasons to delete form submissions:

  • Test submissions — Remove your own test entries after verifying the form works
  • Spam entries — Delete obvious spam or bot submissions
  • Duplicate entries — Remove accidental duplicate submissions
  • GDPR requests — Honor data deletion requests from leads

Bulk Deletion

Currently, submissions must be deleted one at a time. For bulk deletion needs or complete data removal, consider:

  1. Deleting the entire campaign (removes all data)
  2. Contacting support for bulk operations

Individual deletion prevents accidental mass data loss. This is a safety feature to protect your valuable lead data.

Data Retention

What Happens to Deleted Data

When you delete a submission:

  • The record is permanently removed from the database
  • The submission no longer appears in the Data tab
  • Analytics counts may still reflect the original submission count
  • There is no trash or recovery option

Preserving Data Before Deletion

Before deleting important submissions:

  1. Take screenshots or notes of the data
  2. Copy relevant information to your CRM or external system
  3. Export data if you have a large volume (contact support)

Test Data vs Production Data

Managing Preview Submissions

Preview (test) submissions are useful during development but should be cleaned up before launch:

  1. Switch to Preview mode using the environment toggle
  2. Delete any test submissions you created
  3. Switch to Production mode for real data

Best Practices

  • Delete test submissions before publishing your campaign
  • Use obviously fake data when testing (e.g., test@example.com)
  • Check both Preview and Production environments periodically
  • Don't delete production submissions unless absolutely necessary

Privacy Considerations

Handling Personal Data

Form submissions contain personal information that may be subject to privacy regulations:

Responding to Deletion Requests

When a lead requests data deletion:

  1. Verify their identity through the email on file
  2. Locate their submission in the Data tab
  3. Delete the submission record
  4. Confirm deletion to the requester

Keep a log of deletion requests and when they were fulfilled. This demonstrates compliance with privacy regulations.
